Job Description

12 & 18 Month Feedlot and ‘Intensives’  Development Program

 

For vets interested in the production animal side of Apiam Animal Health we have four positions available to enter into our feedlot and intensive animal development program.

 

This is for vets who are interested in a career pathway to feedlot or intensive industry consultancy work.

 

Work in mixed practice with a structured introduction to beef feedlot and/or swine industry work.

 

We have two programs on offer:

  • 12-month ‘Intensives’ program involving swine herd health and cattle feedlot work.
  • 18-month Feedlot program involving cattle feedlot work.

 

Options for clinic base locations:

  • Quirindi Veterinary Clinic
  • Border Veterinary Clinic
  • Dalby & District Veterinary Clinic

 

Eligibility:

  • Veterinarians with a BVSc or DVM with a minimum of 1 year experience in mixed practice.
  • An ability to travel for work and development opportunities as required.
  • A commitment to participate in research and development programs
  • Willingness to prepare and present case studies and a draft scientific paper.

 

Incentives:

  • Leading industry mentoring and development to consultancy work.
  • Bonus payments of $15,000-$25,000 for successful completion of set competencies.

 

Key Dates:

Interviews: 19th- 30th August

Offer: by 14th September

Commencement: 20th September 2024
