Join a Team Where You Truly Come First

At The Vet Practice, we believe that happy, supported staff deliver the best patient care. We foster a highly collaborative culture where every voice matters—regardless of title or experience. As a team, we push boundaries, explore new possibilities, and challenge conventional ways of doing things to ensure we provide the best possible care for our patients and clients.

Who We Are

Located on Melbourne’s northern outskirts, The Vet Practice is a premier companion animal hospital paired with the Victorian Veterinary Rehabilitation Centre (VVRC), a specialist rehabilitation and sports medicine facility.

We deliver exceptional patient care with a holistic approach and strive for clinical excellence on a global stage. More than just a veterinary hospital, we are a workplace designed for people to thrive—where career growth, satisfaction, and balance matter just as much as expertise.

We provide vets with the freedom to practice in a way they’ve always envisioned while pursuing personal areas of interest. Currently, we’re looking for a vet with a keen interest in small animal medicine to complement our team.

Our Facilities

From the essentials to advanced equipment, we offer a well-equipped environment, including:

  • Radiographs (dental & DR)
  • Full Idexx suite with blood gases, ionized calcium & two biochemistry machines
  • Large dental suite
  • MyLab 9 Ultrasound Machine with multiple probes
  • MRI (0.5 Tesla)
  • Cone-Beam CT for middle ear disease, joints & dental work
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Karl Storz Endoscopy full stack
  • CO2 Laser cautery
  • Dedicated Chemotherapy Room, stocking Equishield and Phaseal closed transfer system

Additionally, VVRC offers cutting-edge integrative therapies, including hyperbaric therapy, laser therapy, stem cell therapy, gait analysis, shockwave therapy, and more.

The Role

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a veterinarian who wants to grow with us.

  • 1-2 days per week + rotating Saturday roster
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Work with a passionate, forward-thinking team committed to exceptional care

Who You Are

You’re an experienced vet or a standout recent graduate with a strong interest in small animal medicine. You bring excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to expand your skillset daily. Most importantly, you’re a team player who thrives in a collaborative, evolving environment.

We offer a competitive salary package ($90K-$140K + Super, pro rata for part-time) plus a range of benefits designed to support your work-life balance:

  • VIN & Plumbs memberships
  • 1 week of study leave
  • Generous CPD allowance

And because your well-being matters, enjoy:

  • 5 days paid volunteer leave annually
